For over two decades, ABRO (American Belarusian Relief Organization) has helped more than 20,000 lives. We began over 26 years ago as a relief organization to children living in areas contaminated with radiation from Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.
By bringing the children to the United States, they were able to detoxify and receive needed medical care.
It is our hope that summer camps for the children, which began through ABRO, will continue through our Belarussian counterparts.
The needs of the children in Belarus have not changed, but our ways of reaching them has.
We are doing all we can to get past doors that we find suddenly closed to us. Our hearts are still there. While we wait, we know there are mounting needs as refugees flee the war to surrounding countries.
